Rome – The Holy See Press Office has reported a slight improvement in Pope Francis’ health as he continues his recovery from pneumonia. According to the latest update, the Pope remains fever-free and has stable vital signs.
“The Holy Father’s clinical condition has shown slight progress. He remains fever-free, with stable hemodynamic parameters. This morning, he received the Eucharist and subsequently attended to work-related matters,” the statement read.
Pope Francis was hospitalized at Rome’s Agostino Gemelli Hospital on February 14 after experiencing bronchitis, which was later diagnosed as double pneumonia. His treatment was adjusted accordingly.
Regular updates indicate that the Pope continues to follow his treatment plan, sleeps well at night, and is able to get out of bed each morning to have breakfast.
Matteo Bruni, director of the Holy See Press Office, clarified that the Pope has “focal pneumonia,” meaning the infection is limited to specific areas of his lungs rather than being widespread. He emphasized that the Pope is breathing independently and that his heart remains stable.
